Ms. Eliza
Hello! My name is Eliza Glickman and I am the Pre-K teacher at Riverside! I am looking forward to a magical year working with your child as he or she grows and learns. It's going to be a great year!
I was born and raised in Washington, D.C. I graduated from Oberlin College in Ohio with a Bachelor’s Degree in sociology and politics. I received my multiple subject teaching credential from Loyola Marymount University and my Early Childhood Site Supervisor Permit through UCLA.
I started my career in South Korea, where I had a Fulbright fellowship to teach English as a second language. I taught one year at a middle school in Gyeongju and one year at a high school in Pohang. While there, I worked with young defectors from North Korea and helped organize an English conversation club for adults. I then moved to Santiago Chile, where I taught conversational English to kids in 5th through 8th grade.
I have spent the past five years teaching early childhood education. I have learned that there are two things I am passionate about: engaging the youngest learners and helping families as they join their kids on their first forays into the educational experience.
When I’m not teaching, I love to read, bake, knit, hike, sing, and blues dance. I especially enjoy live theater, with a special zeal for musicals. Whenever I can, I like to hit the road and travel around our own country or visit other countries around the world.
